Ajwain Seeds
Ajwain, also known as Carom Seed, is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. It is originated in India. Both the leaves and the fruit of the plant are consumed by humans. The Major producers of Carom seed are India, Persia, Iran, Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and North Africa.
Description:
The Ajwain or Carom seed is fruit small fruit of the Bishop weed. The small fruits are pale brown in color and an oval in shape, resembling caraway and cumin. It has a bitter and pungent taste, with a flavor similar to anise and oregano. They smell almost exactly like thyme because it also contains thymol, but is more aromatic and less subtle in taste, as well as slightly bitter and pungent.
Storage:
Ajwain or Carom Seed can be stored in an airtight container away from moisture, heat, and sunlight. Then, they will remain their flavor for about one year.
Uses:
The Ajwain or Carom Seeds has strong, dominant, and distinctive taste and flavor.
